FEATURING RONTEL BATIE – Yet another aspect of the political turmoil of this week is the fact that fast food CEO Andrew Puzder has withdrawn his name as Labor Secretary nominee. Puzder faced broad opposition from Democrats, labor unions, and worker organizations for his anti-labor policies as CEO of a fast food empire. But what might have played a bigger role in his backing away from the position is GOP opposition prompted by allegations of spousal abuse by his ex-wife.

Meanwhile, immigrant workers in cities around the country this week have expressed their anger through work strikes called A Day Without Immigrants, and marches under the banner of Immigrants Make America Great.
